Paceman MINI concept has been confirmed for series production

Paceman MINI concept that made its world debut at the Auto Show in Detroit, was confirmed by the management company for series production, is the seventh of the MINI model range, launched after 2012.

During the press conference, Ian Robertson, director of sales and marketing, announced that Paceman will underpin a new model, the seventh, which will join the MINI range. "It will be the seventh model of the MINI family and this concept will be the starting point," said Robertson. "MINI continued to increase, and the excitement never stops." The current line includes models MINI Hardtop, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman. MINI Coupe will be launched later this year and MINI Roadster will be available in 2012.

Paceman design study is the first crossover coupe premium small car segment. It is based on the same platform as the Mini Countryman, and combines a masculine appearance Countryman coupe's dimensions. "MINI is a very muscular, with a sporty elegance," says Robertson.

Paceman MINI Concept MINI brand captures the typical characteristics - unique design, intelligent functionality and driving pleasure - with a new level of agility. Includes ALL4, intelligent all-wheel drive and is powered by a 1.6-liter twin-turbo version of the John Cooper Works.

All details, including release date and name of the vehicle range, will be announced later.
