Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 - recalled to service with the Toyota Aygo

French car manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced it will recall to repair up to 100,000 cars - models Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo built with - for possible problems with the accelerator.

"We made a similar recall campaign made by Toyota, for our models Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1," said a company spokesman.

Both models, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1, produced by PSA Peugeot Citroen in joint venture with Toyota in a factory in the Czech Republic. Approximately 200,000 Peugeot and Citroen units leaving the factory gate every year.

Peugeot spokesman, quoted by the BBC, noted that the 100,000 cars will be recalled to service. However, it did not say when will start the campaign to "recall".

Toyota announced that recall to 1.8 million cars sold in Europe to fix the accelerator pedal after last week took a similar position to 2.3 million cars sold in the U.S..
