Peugeot is launching a new crossover to Auto Shanghai 2011

At the Shanghai Motor Show, Peugeot 508 model launches set for the Chinese market and a new crossover concept, design 100% Chinese and hybrid (petrol - electric).

Peugeot will launch at least one new model every year in the Chinese market in a bid to strengthen its presence in one of the largest auto markets in the world, improving both range and quality models.

A month and a half after the successful launch of the European market, surpassing sales goals by 20%, Peugeot 508 developed and marketed in China makes its first debut in Shanghai Motor Show.

508's launch is essential for two main reasons. First, one of two 508 sedans will be built and sold in China - a vehicle of the three versions of products - with projected annual sales of 65,000 units in China for the first year.

Secondly, 508 contribute to the overall offensive Peugeot model range to enrich and improve their quality, with the recent launch in China of 3008, soon followed by RCZ in May. 508 is the ninth vehicle on offer for China Peugeot: 207 hatchback and sedan, the 207 CC, 308 CC and SW, 408, 3008, and soon 508 RCZ.

Objectives for 2011 Peugeot in China are selling 200,000 vehicles.

Along with the commercial launch of the new 508, Peugeot will present for the first time a new concept, created 100% in China from the center of Shanghai, adapted to market needs of tomorrow.

Crossover Peugeot high tech 4x4 is equipped with a hybrid powertrain (gasoline-electric). The French manufacturer has not yet provided other technical details, but his debut is almost (April 19).
