Porsche is preparing a new model based on the concept Volkswagen BlueSport

German sports car manufacturer Porsche Boxster will build a model more in 2012, making room for a new vehicle to enter the range, smaller size, based on the concept BlueSport Volkswagen, introduced in 2009.

For 2012, Porsche is planning to amend the Boxster model, making it larger. The current length of 4.37 m, the new Boxster will have about 4.4 meters, according to journalists in Bus. Boxster remains a model with two seats, but giving more space for passengers and their luggage. Porsche Boxster models and move production to Studtgart Cayman in 2012, after completing the current contract with Finnish company Valmet Automotive.

The new base model of Porsche will be built on the platform concept Volkswagen BlueSport - Compact Roadster shown in premiere in Detroit in January 2009.

Matthias Muller production manager at Porsche said the new model will be ready when the new Boxster will be released in 2012. Muller said he supports the concept of multi-brand strategy BlueSport, which will underpin the model and possible alternatives Seat Porsche and Audi.

Remains to be seen if the Volkswagen Group executives will decide it is worth investing in this project, since they are needed for a viable production of 100,000 units sold per year, what can be done at least three versions of this model.
