Renault reduced by 20% production in South Korea
Division of the South Korean manufacturer Renault has announced that next month will reduce production by 20% from a lack of components supplied by companies in Japan.
Renault Samsung Motors has suspended the overtime after the devastating earthquake on March 11 following the shutdown of operations of Japanese suppliers.
"After a temporary halt on March 18, the company plans to reduce vehicle production by about 20% over a month since April," said Renault Samsung in a news release.
"Production will be re-adjusted the delivery components."
The company has a strategic alliance with Japan's Nissan Motor. Other Korean manufacturers have announced production process interruptions due to interruption of supply of components from Japan.
Japanese automakers, including Toyota and Nissan, local factories have stopped work after the disaster and the problems caused parts manufacturers closing factories in other states.
