Renault sales fell in the first half with 16.5%

Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles of Renault have decreased in volume in the first half, with 16.5%, to 1.107 million units, but the French have maintained market share globally at 3.7%.

In Romania, Renault has achieved a market share of 37% in the first six months, climbing by 2.3 percentage points, stated in a communication of the French group.

Worldwide, sales of cars dropped in the period analyzed, 13.7% to 969,361 units, while light commercial vehicles by 32.4% to 137,628 units. The market share of Renault vehicles for passengers was in the first six months of 4.3%, up 0.1 percentage points.

In Europe, Renault has a market share for passenger cars by 8.4%.

"This result can be attributed to increase market share in the second quarter to 8.8% from 7.9% in the first three months, according to the communication.

The main markets for Renault cars for passengers were France, with 332,100 units sold, corresponding to a market share of 25.1%, down 0.5 percentage points, Germany, with sales of 123,000 units, climbing to 47, 6% and a market share of 5.7% and Italy, where it sold 56,700 cars and has 4.7% market share.

"The renewal of auto fleets, introduced in December in France and later in Germany or other European countries, have supported the significant markets, the Commission stresses.

Renault remained in the first half leader in the European light commercial vehicles, a position that has over 11 years. Market share in this sector increased by 0.6 percentage points to 14.8%.
