Renault will produce new models in Russia: Duster, Megane and Fluence

Renault announced at the Moscow Motor Show, which opened its doors today, it will launch local production of three new models: Duster, Fluence Megane hatchback and sedan. Production will begin later this year.

Along with presenting the world premiere in Moscow the new Latitude sedan, Renault has announced it will launch new models on the Russian market: SUV Duster, auto box for Logan and Sandero Sandero Stepway (CKD - locally assembled kits) and Fluence sedan and hatchback Megane (SKD). They will be produced locally in the period 2010-2011.

Renault is one of key automotive producers in Russia. Since 2005, in partnership with the Government of Moscow (Avtoframos), Renault has successfully developed production facilities in the area. In 2008, the French manufacturer has become a strategic partner for AvtoVAZ. Alliance between Nissan and AvtoVAZ plans to cover 40% of car market in Russia by 2015.

Currently, Renault has a market share rising to 5.3%, with 50,801 cars sold in first seven months of this year. Also be noted that Logan has kept its position as the best import vehicle sold in Russia.
