Renault-Nissan Alliance reports record sales, increasing by 19.6%

Renault-Nissan Alliance last year sold a record number of vehicles: 7,276,398 units, up 19.6% over 2009, a global auto market that expanded by 11.8%. Alliance in 2010 registered a 10.3% market share.

In 2010, Renault and Nissan sold respectively 2,625,796 and 4,080,588 vehicles. Landa sales totaled 570,010 units, up 37.6% over the previous year. Renault's global sales grew 14% while Nissan by 21.5%.

"In 2010, Renault-Nissan Alliance has managed global sales record and an unprecedented market share. Our performance was particularly encouraged in emerging markets where Alliance brands continued to grow and increase its market share, "said Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance.

"The most lasting partnership in the automotive industry, the Alliance for 12 years continues to strengthen its global presence by expanding production capacity and competitive products", said Carlos Ghosn.
