Smart forspeed, electric concept prepared for the Geneva Motor Show

Smart Geneva presents an unconventional concept, "forspeed combines contemporary urban mobility with the fun factor, typical of the smart brand. Vehicle has an electric motor and a Li-Ion battery that gives them a range of 135 km.
The two-seater has no roof or side windows, but instead have a windscreen, wind deflector in place, in the style of classic aircraft, which has integrated photovoltaic cells. Smart forspeed accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 120 km / h. Pressing a button located on the center console to activate the boost function that provides extra 5 kW of power for a short period of time, ideal for overtaking maneuvers, for example.
Smart forspeed takes power from a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 16.5 kWh that can be recharged from a normal outlet. With the battery fully charged, the vehicle has a range of 135 km. Fast Charging from 0 to 80% takes 45 minutes.
Smart design study will be presented forspeed public world premiere at the Geneva Auto Show, open from 3 to 13 March 2011.
