Subaru Sold its headquarters building

Fuji Heavy Industries, the company that makes Subaru cars, said it sold the building a global headquarters in Tokyo, over 40 years old, to generate cash, with plans to move to a new location, more modern.
The company aims to raise 34 billion yen (400 million dollars) from selling the building Shinjuku, 44 years old, the Japanese manufacturer said in a press release. With an area of 20,000 square meters, the building is adjacent to the Shinjuku train station in Tokyo.
"It's been 44 years since the construction of Subaru Shinjuku, where central offices are now located, already are not enough spaces for working, and this transfer will improve efficiency of operations at headquarters FHI," reads the company's release.
Fuji Heavy Ind. intends to complete the sale until April 28 but will continue to stand with rent here until the new location of the center dinTokyo Ebisu district will be completed around 2014.
