SUV, coupe, convertible and shooting-brake for Mercedes A-Class?

Mercedes-Benz could broad range future A-Class and B-Class with new body styles, though an official decision has yet been taken.
According to Joachim Schmidt, head of Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz, quoted by Automotive News, for the next generation A-Class to be able to offer a three-door version, a convertible or a shooting-brake.
So far, Daimler's premium division just announced that future compact hatchbacks and B-Class (pictured) will be complemented by an SUV and a coupe with four doors. All four versions will use a new architecture that Mercedes-Benz has developed specifically for the compact class.
Mercedes is forced to do these steps in order to comply with new European restrictions in terms of pollution but also to keep up with Audi and BMW. A second generation B-Class would be the first of the new compact that will be launched. The model will arrive in showroom sites later this year.
