The Marketplace in 2009: - new cars 59% - 29% cars / trucks

According to Statistics Directorate scheme driving licenses and vehicle registration in Romania last year were registered about 116,000 new car (minus 59% from 2008) and about 213,000 cars SH (minus 29% compared to 2008).

New car market returned to many years ago in volume, coming to a total of 116,012 units, compared to over 285,000 in 2008.

Registrations of new cars reached the highest level in January 2009 when there were 13,815 cars, while the lowest number was in September, with 6780 units. The trucks has been a boom in March, with over 52,000 units, but then not passed the 20,000 vehicles registered first time in Romania.

The trucks, registrations declined from about 300,900 cars in 2008 to 212,836 last year. Volkswagen, Opel and Ford were the marks that have dominated the market for second hand cars, and in March was the best month for registrations, with 52,897 units.

Month December 2009 was the best month for the registration of trucks from April onwards, with a total of 18,839 units. This increase was mainly due to car pollution tax from January 1, 2010 (by increasing the exchange rate for calculating all taxes and excise duties).
