The new model Peugeot Electric: John "Zero Emissions" premiere at the Frankfurt IAA in 2009
Peugeot today announced its new fully electric vehicle, created by Mitsubishi i MiEV - Peugeot ion. With a range of about 130 km, new model will be introduced at the Frankfurt Salon and the market will reach the end of 2010.
After Friday PSA and Mitsubishi have signed collaboration agreement electric vehicles, Peugeot has today its new fully electric model, designed by Mitsubishi i MiEV.
The Model 106, produced between 1995 and 2003, Peugeot, a pioneer in electric vehicles remains to date the manufacturer that sold the most cars with "zero emissions" in the world. Thus, Peugeot intends to continue to be an important player in the electric vehicle market, targeting that by the end of 2010 to be among the first producers who launched the market in such vehicle, the new Peugeot ion.
The new electric model from Peugeot aste a hatchback with five doors and four seats, has a length of 3.48 meters. Under the hood the new Peugeot ion "is an electric motor developing 47 kW (64 hp) and torque of 180 Nm. These values give it respectable and dynamic performance: maximum speed 130 km / h. Equipped with a Li-Ion, this can be fully recharged in six hours using a normal 220V outlet, or through rapid loading system in 30 minutes can reach 80%.
When will be its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (15-27 September 2009), the new Peugeot ion will reach the market in late 2010. In the spring of 2011 will be launched Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 will complete the French manufacturer's range of efficient vehicles.
