The new Toyota Yaris has been caught during testing. Japanese maker said it wants to extend hybrid technology on as many models and the Yaris is an ideal candidate.

Toyota is developing a hybrid Yaris. It will use the same technology as the Prius model, which was a smash in the U.S.. Latest model hybrid made by Toyota Auris is the new hybrid.

The new Yaris will undergo minor cosmetic changes, but will bring hybrid technology into a new sector, that of the compacts. This class has been dominated so far by Polo and Fiesta models. Yaris chances to be fitted with propeller of 1.8 liters and Auris used Prius are very small. Toyota will most likely use the propeller of 1.0 or 1.3 liter gasoline. It will be supplemented by the electric motor of 36 hp.

Preparing new hybrid Toyota Yaris Geneva Motor Show this spring. Meanwhile, the Paris Motor Show will mark the launch of a competitor for the Opel Meriva, the platform will be based on the new Yaris. Launching a compact hybrid is considered a counterattack against the new Honda hybrid Jaz.
