Top 10 World Car Awards 2011

The countdown has begun in preparation for a news conference announcing the winners of the 2011 World Car Awards co-hosted by Bridgestone Auto Show in New York on April 21, 2011. Until then, organizers have announced semi-finalists.

A jury of 66 international automotive journalists selected the following top 10 cars in both finalists main categories (World Car of the Year and World Performance Car). The jury is in a balanced way the continents Asia, Europe, North America, South America and other regions.

Top 10 Rental Car of the Year 2011 finalist for the title:

- Audi A1
- Audi A8
- BMW 5 Series
- BMW X3
- Jaguar XJ
- Jeep Grand Cherokee
- Mercedes-Benz SLS
- Nissan LEAF
- Porsche Cayenne
- Volvo S60 / V60

Top 10 finalists for the title Car Performance Car of the Year 2011:

- Aston Martin Rapide
- Audi RS 5 Coupe
- Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
- Ferrari 458 Italy
- Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
- Mercedes-Benz S63 / CL 63 AMG
- Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS
- 911 GT2RS
- Porsche 911 Turbo
- Renault Megane III / Renault Sport

Car Top 8 finalists for the title "Design of the Year 2011: Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Aston Martin Rapide, Audi A7, DS3 Citroen, Ferrari 458, Honda CR-Z Kia Sportage and Nissan Juke.

Rental Top 6 finalists for the title "The greenest car 2011 BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics Edition, Chevrolet Volt, Hybrid Hyundai Sonata, Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell, Nissan Leaf and smart electric drive.

The jury will review the charts of all categories, in preparation for the final round of voting in February. Each machine will be marked for value, safety, environmental, emotional appeal and meaning. Top with the three finalists will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1.

Award-winning cars "World Car of the Year" in 2010 were Volkswgen Polo, Golf Volkswgen in 2009, the Mazda2 in 2008, Lexus LS460 in 2007, the 2006 BMW 3 Series and Audi A6 in 2005.

Award-winning cars "World Performance Car" was the Audi R8 V10 2010 Nissan GT-R in 2009, the 2008 Audi R8, Audi RS4 and Porsche Cayman S in 2007 in 2006.

"World Car Design of the Year" was won by the Chevrolet Camaro in 2010, Fiat 500 in 2009, the 2008 Audi R8, Audi TT in 2007 and the Citroen C4 in 2006.

"World Green Car" award was won by BlueMotion Volkswagen (Golf, Passat, Polo) in 2010, the 2009 Honda FCX Clarity, the BMW 118d with Efficient Dynamics in 2008, Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec in 2007 and in 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid.
