Toyota Prius preparing a model with seven seats

Toyota might launch next year a seven-seat Prius.

Toyota made public many times that he wants to invest in electric hybrid technology and to develop models more attractive and autonomy as good. The new Prius model will be Alpha, a hybrid seven-seat MPV.

The new Prius will be released Alpha and next spring. It could use a new series of Li-ion batteries. The new model family will use the same platform as the current Prius, the same 1.8-liter petrol powered, but will have an extra row of seats. Alpha model Prius will have a length of 300 mm.

Toyota wants to use Li-ion battery system to improve both performance and autonomy of the new model. It will be a little harder than the current Prius, and because there will be a family car, autonomy is essential. Consumption will be about 4 litres/100 km.
