Toyota Prius wants to be the best selling model in the U.S. by 2020

Toyota Prius hybrid is expected that the famous, and models thereof, to become the best selling models in the U.S. by the end of this decade. At the Detroit Auto Show, Toyota has new Prius and a new version Verso Prius concept.

"We will end this decade with the Prius No. 1 industry," said Bob Carter, Toyota group vice president responsible for sales. Camry, currently the best selling Toyota in the U.S. "will be immediately replaced two, but not because it will be a decrease in sales of the Camry, a Toyota official said.

Along with the current model Prius and rechargeable version of the Prius Plug-In, scheduled for 2012, Toyota will launch an SUV-style model (possibly called Verso Prius) in the Auto Show in Detroit, which would open its doors on January 10 . Moreover, at the Stade Toyota in Detroit will be submitted a new form of concept, "says Mike Michels, spokesman for Toyota, without providing more details about it.

Prius, best-selling model with alternative propulsion systems in the past ten years, starting to compete in this year after Nissan unveiled Leaf Electric and General Motors launched the Chevrolet Volt.
