Toyota sets another sales record |
|
Toyota has exceeded three million hybrid units sold and saved the planet from 18 million tons of CO2.
Toyota has managed to overcome another psychological threshold, reaching three hybrid milioanevehicule sold worldwide in 1997, with the release of the Toyota Coaster Hybrid EV bus, followed in the same year, the first generation Prius. Even more impressive is the fact that over one million units, out of three have been sold since August 2009.
Toyota has a very varied offer. Not more than 16 hybrid models are offered all over the world, and Toyota plans to complete the offer with some new variants derived from Prius.
By the end of 2012, Toyota wants to add another `10 models bibrid, completing the offer in the segment. Suitability of data supplied by Japanese manufacturer, hybrid vehicles have made it possible for nearly 18 million tons of CO2 to the atmosphere no longer today. This is the amount of carbon dioxide would be emitted a similar number of vehicles in the same category, but equipped with conventional engines.
