Toyota to recall Land Cruiser service models and the Lexus GX 150 460
Toyota Motor Europe announced today that it will begin a process of recall of about 7,500 service units 150 Toyota Land Cruiser (Prado) and the Lexus GX 460 in Europe to reprogram the system software VSC (Vehicle Stability Control).
Toyota has announced that vehicles subject to this recall are safe to be driven under normal conditions, but some cars equipped with optional Kinetic Dynamic Suspension system when the driver negotiating a curve at excessive speeds right there that they might slip, without causing an uncontrollable situation.
The problem is investigated in detail after a U.S. magazine profile has submitted a report on insufficient activation of VSC system in the Lexus GX 460 model (pictured). Land Cruiser 150 is built on the same platform.
Affected vehicles in Europe are only left drive versions. Voluntary recall includes the Toyota Land Cruiser 150, available throughout Europe, and the Lexus GX 460, which can be purchased only in selected markets in Eastern Europe. A remedy for this problem has already been announced by Toyota Motor Corporation.
All customers who have one of these models will be announced in coming days staff. To date no complaints or injuries have been reported on this problem with VSC software.
No other Toyota and Lexus is not affected by this recall action in service in Europe. U.S. market, Toyota will recall about 9400 units of 2010 Lexus GX 460 range.
