Toyota Verso - five stars in Euro NCAP tests

Euro NCAP today published the latest safety tests we conducted with five cars: Citroen Nemo, Veng Kia, Nissan Cube, Seat Exeo and Toyota Verso. Of these, only Toyota Verso received 5 stars rating, the rest received only 3 and 4.
In 2010, Euro NCAP has high standards for obtaining the maximum rating in the three major categories of protection. The level of performance for adult occupant protection and protection for child occupants increased from 75% to 80% and from 70% to 75%. Furthermore, pedestrian protection to achieve the minimum five stars increased from 25 to 40%. Thus, Toyota Verso is the only car that got the maximum rating, 5 out of 5 stars, the results today, with a good score obtained in all categories and a large percentage, 69% of pedestrian protection.
Most manufacturers today offer various solutions for families, make wagon (estate), MPV, some are based on commercial versions. Euro NCAP noted that the latter are poorly equipped in terms of safety. For example Nemo Multispace, Citroen sold is directly derived version of the commercial vans Citroen Nemo. The car received a medium rating of three stars and 29% for the equipment support systems (ESP and speed limiter). Score poorly in the category is attributed to lack of adult protection curtain airbags standard equipment and poor performance of seat head restraints in rear impacts.
Seat Exeo, a sedan based on the old generation Audi A4, got a rating of 4 stars. Structure harsh dashboard with a high risk of injury to the legs, despite fitting the knee airbag. However, the machine has performed well to protect pedestrians and occupants of children. Nissan Cube also very good overall performance, was excluded from the protection of children in frontal impact test, where it received 4 stars.
Kia Veng also received four stars, but with problems. During frontal impact test, driver's belt was cut lower part of support - a very serious Hiba may endanger the life of both occupants of front seats.
Kia has responded immediately and has already introduced a solution to solve this problem, also taking measures to repair cars already sold to customers or dealers in showrooms. A total of 2100 cars are affected by this change, which is already 1100 and 1000 customers are dealers.
