Volkswagen first exceeded four million cars sold in January-July

For the first time, the Volkswagen Group sold over 4 million vehicles during January-July: 4.16 (January-July 2009: 3.65, 13.7%) million cars were shipped to customers in the first seven months of this year.

As a result, the largest European car manufacturer continues to perform better than average car market (13.4%). This also applies to most brands of the German group. In July, Volkswagen Group delivered 572,200 cars worldwide (556,200, without Scania, 2.9%).

In Europe, the Volkswagen Group sold a total of 2.0 million cars, equivalent to an increase of 2.2% over the same period of 2009.

South America has delivered 484,300 cars in the first seven months (2.3%) and in North America deliveries increased by 27.1% to 207,100 units.

The situation on the main passenger car brands: Audi sales rose 17.4%, 13.4% Skoda and Seat delivered 2.3% more vehicles than during January-July 2009.
