Volkswagen Golf 6 R - the most powerful Golf of all time - the first time at the Frankfurt IAA 2009

The strongest Golf product so far - the new Golf 6 R - was revealed for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Created by Volkswagen Individual, R is the new Golf 2.0 TSI engine under the hood with 270 hp and four-wheel drive.

Keeping the tradition, Volkswagen launched the new marketing "the most powerful Golf of all time, first taking place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The models Golf 4 and 5 Golf R32, Volkswagen Individual, the division of German manufacturer of accessories and personalization has created new Golf 6 R, with a four-cylinder engine of 2.0 liter TDI that develops 270 hp. This engine is not only easier to 35 kg and 20 horsepower stronger than the 3.2-liter V6 from the Golf R32, it is even more effective. New Golf R shows an average consumption of just 8.5 liters - 2.2 liters or 21% less! CO2 emissions were also reduced from 255 to 199 g / km.

The new Volkswagen Golf 6 R but not compromising the dynamic performance. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h is achieved in 5.7 seconds, and equipped with a manual six-speed DSG transmission, this value drops to 5.5 seconds! Maximum speed is electronically limited 250 km / h.

Propulsorul EA113 four-cylinder 1984 cc, is derived from that of the Golf 5 GTI. To extract more power, the engine block has been reinforced with a totally new alloy, as modified pistons and also high pressure injectors. Alongside the turbo is longer and a new intercooler to dissipate heat generated. The results are obtained at 270 hp 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 350 Nm at 2500 rpm.

New Golf R benefits from improving the braking system, with new discs and 345 mm to 310 mm on the rear and the suspension was lowered by 24 mm. ESP has been revised with two stages, designed for use on the track, and electro-mechanical direction was changed to a more precise answer.

New Golf 6 R will arrive in European showrooms from December, prices will be communicated around the launch market.
