Volkswagen Group sold more than 19% in November

Volkswagen Group in November reported the greatest increase in vehicle sales this year. Compared to the same period of 2008, the Volkswagen Group has increased sales by 19.1% to 531,300 units.
For the first 11 months of 2009, Volkswgen reported 5.85 million vehicles, up 2% over the same period of 2008, when 5.73 million units delivered to customers.
"We exceeded expectations this year so far. This indicates that brands our group are on track, with a range of effective models, specific market needs, "said Detlef Wittig, vice president of sales and marketing. Volkswagen Group is expected to increase slightly for the last month of 2009.
Volkswagen, the largest European manufacturer reported a significant increase in sales in its main markets, Germany, China and Brazil. In November, Volkswgen delivered with 72.9% more cars in China, the largest market, up to a total of 133,700 vehicles (compared to 77,300 units last year).
In Germany, sales rose 18.6% to 102,000 units (compared with 86,000 vehicles registered in the same period in 2008). In Western Europe, excluding Germany, Group sales rose 7.3% to 139,200 units.
In the U.S., the Volkswagen Group delivered 23,200 cars, up 8.7% over the same period of 2008.
In addition, many of the world market situation remains tense, and Volkswagen hardly escape this trend. Deliveries of the Central and Eastern Europe fell by 21.4% to 31,300 units (from 39,800 last year). However, Volkswagen has achieved good performance in a market that contracted by 41%.
Audi has managed to defend their position in November, delivering 82,760 vehicles worldwide (compared with 75,965 in 2008, 8.9%). Premium brand sales increased primarily on the Chinese market, which recorded a plus of 101.9%.
Skoda brand also reported growth in November. Czechs have delivered 26% more cars to 55,500 units (from 44,000 units in 2008).
Seat has delivered 27,900 cars (25,800, +8.0%) in November, the situation is improving its sales in most markets.
