Volkswagen started production of Golf Cabrio

Volkswagen has officially started production at new plant in Osnabruck, Lower Saxony, the first model built here is the new Golf convertible, recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

At the launch event in the production of the new Golf convertible was attended by German President Christian Wuff, premier of Lower Saxony, David McAllister, director of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkom and other company officials. During the factory tour that followed the meeting with employees, the president and prime minister Wuff McAllister were very impressed by the spirit and optimism of the Osnabruck factory. They visited the modern training room where 53 young people 14 to specialize in industrial processes.

New Golf Cabriolet finished in Red Sunset, leaving the assembly line today, marked the start of production in Osnabrueck.

"It's been just over a year since I started working here," said Winterkom. "Since then, I have provided many jobs and we have integrated the technical development. Above all, the team was able to start production Osnabruck's Golf Cabriolet in just one year. The biggest compliment I can make today is that this car, your car is a genuine Volkswagen. Osnabruck was a great debut for the Golf Cabriolet!

Volkswagen factory in Osnabruck covers the entire automotive manufacturing process, from development to assembly. In addition to the Golf convertible at this location is planned new Boxster and Cayman production. The plant has an annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles. Volkswagen will invest 300 million euros in Osnabruck plant by end of this year.
