Volkswagen unveiled the next generation Caddy

The first official pictures and details of the new generation Caddy and Caddy Maxi Volkswagen revealed its world premiere before the beginning of September at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Salon in Hanover.

After six years and sold almost 800,000 units of the current model range Volkswagen Caddy new generation promises to be more economically dependent, with more safety features, improvements in quality, refinement and environmental protection. They will make the 2010 model Caddy continue the tradition of one of the most successful Volkswagen models sold worldwide, including in remote Australia.

Visually, the new generation Volkswagen Caddy stands as a front side in the style of recent models launched by the German manufacturer, such as Polo or Transporter. The Caddy has received new optical blocks the back, and for the first time, and rooftop bar with light cornering lights - optional. Significant changes occurred and interior, where stands the new instruments, steering wheel audio and navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity plus option.

Under the hood, the new Volkswagen Caddy "boasts" a completely new range of engines, consisting of four four-cylinder TDI unit, which are 13% more efficient in fuel consumption. Two 1.6-liter TDI unit producing 75 and 102 hp and two 2.0 liter TDI 110 and 140 hp respectively. These new engines are quieter, more refined and economical, observing EU5. Other innovations introduced by the new generation Caddy is the DSG gearbox with seven gears and four-wheel drive 4MOTION.

BlueMotion technology models will be available in versions and passenger van, equipped with 1.6 TDI engine. Systems using Start and Stop recover energy from braking, these models show only 129 g CO2 / km emissions.

New Generation Volkswagen Caddy includes ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) as standard on all versions. In addition to other security systems are day and lights automatically activate lights and flags when the emergency brakes.

Model 7-seater Caddy Maxi Life will be renamed the Caddy Maxi MPV, and for greater flexibility and space for loading, the second row of seats of this model and Kombi and the Caddy Maxi van 5 seats, will be removed completely, not just folded up as well.

Volkswagen Caddy new generation premiere will be presented publicly at the Salon of commercial vehicles at Hannover (23 to 30 September 2010), following that of November to arrive in European showrooms.
