Volkswagen workers threaten to stop production

If you do not get a wage increase of 4.2%, about 90,000 workers, organized the largest union of German car manufacturer Volkswagen could stop work, inform Bloomberg.
"It is possible to reach agreement, but in this case Volkswagen will be to improve the offer. If not, we will take action. We are talking here about thousands of workers will stop work, "he told Bloomberg Uwe Stoffregen, spokesman for the IG Metall union.
The statement was made yesterday, before the fourth round of negotiations with company representatives. In addition to salary increases for about 90,000 workers employed in six factories in Germany, trade unions require increasing the retirement age.
Volkswagen officials are unwilling to increase salaries, offering instead a system of bonuses based on performance workers. Negotiations take place in a context where eight months of Volkswagen sales fell by 2.1%, despite the programs 'crock' of Germany and other European countries.
