Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid Will Be Tested At Michelin Challenge Bibendum

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid, which will celebrate its first official test at Michelin Challenge Bibendum, integrates the best attributes of three types of cars in a single break attractive. The driver can choose preferred mode led by three buttons on the instrument panel: Pure and Hybrid Power.

Pure mode, the car runs exclusively using the electric motor, a distance of 50 km. In default mode hybrid, the diesel engine and electric interaction to deliver an optimal balance between driving pleasure and environmental impact. CO2 emissions on average just 49 g / km, which corresponds to a consumption of just 1.9 litres/100 km. Thus, the autonomy of the car reaches 1200 km.

In Power mode, the technology is optimized to provide maximum performance machine. Diesel and electric motor develops 70 hp and 215 with a maximum torque of 440 Nm + 200.

Front axle is driven by the diesel engine of 2.4 liter five-cylinder that produces 215 hp and 440 Nm and the rear axle is powered by 70 hp electric motor that receives energy from Li-Ion Battery Pack of 12 kWh.

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will be launched in 2012, the result of cooperation between Volvo Car Corporation and the Swedish electricity provider Vattenfall.

Michelin Challenge Bibendum (Berlin, 18-22 May 2011) is an international event that combines technical tests and evaluations, demonstrations and test drives to demonstrate progress vehicle types and propulsion technologies.
